A walk-in art intervention by Klaus Littmann and Enea
Following the successful collaboration of the two projects For Forest and Arena for a Tree in Basel, once again, Enzo Enea and Klaus Littmann’s joint vision will be further strengthened and made accessible to the public with an art installation in Venice.
The arena on the water will be presented at the opening of the 60th Venice Biennale.
The opening will take place on 16 April at 5 pm.
ARENA FOR A TREE
ARSENALE NORD, VENICE
17 APRIL – 31 JULY 2024 │ TUE – SUN │ 11 am – 7 pm
A tree is the centrepiece of Klaus Littmann’s walk-in art intervention in front of the historic Arsenale Nord. This tree, on which all eyes and thoughts are focused, is an appeal, a memorial and a representative of the forest, nature and the indispensable importance of its preservation.
Enzo Enea chose the bald cypress (Taxodium distichum) for the art installation in Venice. The bald cypress is considered a climate-resistant tree, as it thrives in warmer climates and in short and long-term flooding with fresh and salt water. It has the extraordinary ability to absorb flood water, prevent erosion and cool and purify the air.
